Car was bought new in Long Beach, California by a gentleman named Charles Matthews who kept track of every time he put gas in the car for the first 10-12 years (Aerospace Engineer?).
After sitting in a garage for a number of years, it went up to northern California, to a guy who was never able to get it back on the road. The third owner was a well-known MG enthusiast named Jim Perell, who did a sympathetic restoration on the car, and did a wonderful job of getting it back in running order.
I was lucky enought to be able to buy the car from Jim in April of 2011. The car still wears its original paint, and the interior is mostly original. The engine is slightly 'tuned' with a Flowspeed head, an APT cam, and is backed up by a T9 5-speed. The car is very quick, and a pleasure to drive.
