A car guy since I could walk. Love to play with many different types of cars. I have always had a love of British cars. This car has basically a basket case when I towed her home and she has slowly been cosmetically repaired. I am now starting to get the final mechanical issues resolved. I own a odd assortment of cars, and have been lucky enough to have quite a few fun British cars in my past.

I played with the timing and the mixture on the B today, and had to take it for a drive to see how she drove with the changes. It was a touch warm today. The thermometer said 114 outside and it was 119 in the garage. Needless to say driving a MG with limited insulation and no AC, it made for a hot drive. The temp gauge stayed at an acceptable level and the car picked up a bunch of power above 3000 RPM, but the idle and the transition off idle got worse. I think I need to back it down a bit,...
Valves Adjusted
Posted on: Tuesday August 9, 2011
The valves have all been adjusted to .015 cold. We are slowly moving to where the car should be in decent condition. The current compression using a "good" tester is #1 - 160 #2 - 140 #3 - 157 #4 - 165
