It never fails. You get one step ahead, then fall two behind. I got a
check today so I went out to pay bills. On the way home the radiator
went. Fluid leaking for the upper half, getting rapidly worse. I can't
see the leak but I assume the plastic cracked or an upper galley let
loose. Fortunately only a few blocks from home so no overheating but it
left a trail. The local shop gets $170 for a replacement + installation
(which I will do myself). So for a 95 mtx some questions: does anybody
have a radiator to sell? Where might I find the best price for a new
one, and how big a PITA is this job?

thanks

Barry Hayes

ps, I do know about burping the system after a coolant loss.

www.radiators.com

A couple years back, I got the standard 1-year warranty radiator from them.
It was a factory Visteon for $91 + $9 overnight Fedex.

If you've got an Autozone nearby, they will have both the stock radiator and HD (3.8L radiator) in store or nearby. Pep-Boys, NAPA, etc should all be able to get you what you need within a few business days if they do not have the item in-store. The Godan "HD" unit is $150 at Autozone. RCM sells them for $135+ shipping. IIRC, the regular MTX radiator was just about $110 at autozone.

Well I finally got to install the radiator I got from Nimz. Perfect
fit thank you. Now I know about the burping procedure but I can;t
find it so can someone tell me how to do it please?
Also, the car sat for some time before I could get to it. When I put
everything back and started, it lit the battery light and wouldn't
charge. Cleaning the battery terminals seems to have cured it but are
there any other possibilities? I checked all the connections and
grounds and they seem tight. Any ideas?

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

Alternators on these cars suck. No, really, they stop working all the
time. Usually it's either the voltage regulator or the rectifier diodes
- an easy fix - but I'd be takin' it to an advance auto to get it tested
ASAP.

Jason

p.s. I've been through 4 alts on my car in the 3 years I've had it
