Mail From: Donald Mallinson <(email redacted)>

Story about Danica Patrick today in the newspaper. She was talking
about maybe going to NASCAR, and was saying how she expects to have
teams that will spend every dollar and every second making her car
faster. Nothing about what SHE was going to do to go faster, all about
how her team should do that.

Those words indicate a that she isn't happy with the Letterman/Rayhal team.

The head of the team also said something that almost made me shoot
cereal milk out my nose. Talking about Danica and how she likes to bump
cars like in her go-cart days (she said "Rubbing is racin'...right?"
but she can't do that in the IRL, the team manager said:

"Well if you wait till the right time of the month, she can do lots of
that in NASCAR!" (or something close to that!) Seems he was standing
next to her at the time and she commented that it "sounded like a good
joke". But I wonder if she was smiling or planning on running him over
with the team golf cart!

I was listening to Tommy & Rumble (on FM99!) yesterday morning about
that. I almost wet myself. In fact, I might have wet myself a little, I
don't know. I think it would be (southern drawl) reeeeeeal interestin'
(/southern drawl) to see a woman race in NASCAR. I wonder what all the
guys would think? Especially if she won! I don't see that happening,
though, based on her performance so far in IRL. They are two completely
different animals, though... she could drive the "IWANTCHOCOLATEmobile"!

Danica will be chewed up and spit out in NASCAR. And from what I've read,
it couldn't happen to nicer witch. But replace the w. I really hope that
someday soon there will be a female driver that makes everyone shut up by
flat out driving their pants off, but she ain't gonna' be it. She a 90 lbs
girl with a 400 lbs ego that her skills don't back up.

Can you tell I've had enough of her?

Now, let's whatch Marco Andretti who looks like he has better skills than
his dad. I've heard from inside sources that Grandpa is grinning a lot
these days...

But I would put Lyn St. James in the same "witch" category (replacing
the first letter of course with something more appropriate) that Kerby
used for Danica. Lyn may have been a decent driver, but she wasn't near
as good as she needed to be, or as she thought she was.

It's the same way with everybody else (only a 170 lb guy with a 900 lb ego
and a head that won't fit in the helmet)

For some reason the higher you climb the ladder, the bigger your head gets.

I think the 42 car next year is going to have a small "roof bubble" to make
sure JP's head/helmet clear the roof structure as well.

I do look forward to tuning in and watching him up against Boris Said and
Gordon/Stewart, but when Nigel Mansell came from F1 to the US in '93,
everybody said he would tear up the road courses and suck on the ovals, and
it was actually the total opposite. So it'll be interesting since JP has
had some oval success in the past
