OK, update, the speedo quit working, I pulled the gear and it's chewed
- I'd blame my dog, but he wasn't in the trans. Any thoughts as to why
this happened. Could I have gotten the wrong gear (Auto trans?) I have
a T-5. 93 Cobra, upgraded to 3.55's and was replacing the stock 20 tooth
gear to a 23 tooth gear. Installation seemed straightforward. Gear worked
great for several miles then went all bouncy up to 40, then 45. Finally
just quit. No speedo. I probably have 5-8 teeth in the tranny - is this
a problem - they are plastic. Should I call Holcomb and ask for another.
I really can't leave the stock one in- it's running up the odometer too
fast!
An aside, I'd swear this thing has Red Ford ATF fluid in it. Judging
from the speedo gear - it sure looks like Red ATF. Doesn't smell like
gear oil either - any comments?
Thanks in advance for any help.
