Well, it's time for new tires on my '90 'bird, and since I want to go to
16"ers, I'll have to replace the stock 15"ers.
I want to keep the OEM look of the car, but don't want to have to pay
"dealers" prices, so good-quality used rims would even be ok.
The style I'm looking for is hard to describe, but here goes:
it's an alloy, 5-spoke or blade design with each spoke/blade being
rounded and angled severly from the central hub which appears
to be about 6-8" in diameter covered by a tbird logo'ed lug-cover.
I've seen them on a couple of '90 TBird SC's.
I've seen a 7-blade design, where the blades are at a less severe
angle, and thusly shorter, but it's NOT the style I'm looking for. I've also
seen these style of rims on mustangs.
In both cases, I don't know what lug-type the rims were for, but I'll have to
assume it was a 5-lug, as mine is. Also, I don't know the width
but I'm hoping to wrap them in 235 or 245s - I've seen 225's -
and want to know if they'll fit.
For reference, the 5-spoke/blade rim can be (kind of) seen in
Bently's book, "Ford Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Control,"
on page 152, and the 7-blade rim, mounted on a mustang, on page 170.
(Great reference and reading if you want to learn more about EFI!)
If anyone knows the model and/or where I can find the 5-spoke, dealer (if
reasonable
) or otherwise (any sellers?), new or good-quality used,
please let me know.
Thanks!

Try Acker Wheel in San Jose, CA. They have a lot of take-offs and good
quality used rims. They do mail order as well. 408-275-1218. Hope this helps.
