I'm currently working on ferretting out the cause of low vacuum in my car
(c. 10 inches at idle). Some of the stoppers for the vaccuum tree seem to
be leaking a bit--at least when I sprayed carb clearer there the engine
slowed slightly. Also, there's a vaccuum hose that goes down behind the
engine--between it and the firewall to disappear under the car somewhere
(haven't crawled under it to try to trace it yet). Anyone know where it
would be going?

I've also checked around the edges of the manifold and the base of the
carb. I went ahead and replaced the hose between carb and vacuum advance on
general principles. Anyone got any other ideas on where to check or what
else could be causing the low vacuum?
