Have you checked the cable and the gear in the tranny? I'd bet that
either one of these parts is your problem. A speedometer doesn't usually
go bad, but it does happen. Check out the parts I mentioned (if you
already haven't) and get back to the list. If it's the cable, I have
one. If it's the gear, I may have one, but if you're interested, respond
off the list please.

Did you eliminate the cable as the problem first?
Before you invest in a new cable,take it loose at the transmission and
check to make sure the plastic gear in the trans is not stripped.If you
do need one,check with you local Ford dealer.
