Question about rigidity

Okay. So I've got a '65 Fastback now - and love it. Except the steering
and brakes. In fact, I haven't even registered the car yet, and won't
until it steers and brakes well. So I'm trying to decide between a front
power disc brake upgrade (from drums) and power steering rack and pinion
kit (one choice) and a whole new Mustang II style front suspension with
power disc brakes and power rack and pinion steering. The cost is within
a few hundred dollars of each other, the Mustang II kit actually being
cheaper, although it calls for a new collapsible steering column.
My question is this: right now the car has an export brace and monte
carlo bar. If I change to the Mustang II type front suspension, I lose
the shock towers and those braces. It frees up a lot of space in the
engine bay, but what will it do to the rigidity of the car? Anybody?

cripes, man, get a granada swap for the discs (from $50 - $150) and either
rebuild the original steering or make your own power rack and pinion
setup. maybe $250, including rack. I'd probably fo with the rebuild box
if I wanted quick(er) and easy(er). aren't those rod & custom kits
~$2500? *and* you've got all that cutting and welding. makes the r&p
swap look like cake, I'd bet. sure, you lose the benefits of a mII front,
but this is still a '65 mustang, after all, not an '01 lotus.
