The '68 shop manual says to use an electrically conductive thread sealant for the temp sending unit.
I've got the permatex teflon anti-sieze (thin, silvery stuff) and their High-Temp thread sealant (thick, white). I also have a tube of Oatey brand pipe thread sealant with teflon (thick, yellowish).
Are any of these three, good for sealing the threads on these sending units?
Or do I need to buy another tube of goo?
Mike

i just used the teflon tape and the gauge works fine , the threads grind
through it some so i guess it was enough for the sending unit to get a good enough
ground.

I agree with Jason on this one. Use teflon tape...but be sure none
gets in the sending unit or it won't read correctly.
