Anyone know the exact oil needed for this trans, as I have read somwhere
about some manuals using auto oil and that the wrong oil can damage it.

Use Red Line synthetic "MTL" oil. It is absolutely the best you can buy.
Cheap insurance if you are hard on your tranny.

No, because the newer transmissions require an automatic transmission fluid.
Redline also makes 90 weight gear oil for manual transmissions though.
