Hmm... I'll agree they're "the best on the market..." But if they're so
good, why did it take them over a year to pick up on information that had
been posted on discussion forums and on Allen Cross's FoMoCo Obsolete
website since at least the summer of 1997?

It wasn't until the August 1998 issue that Jerry Heasley "broke" this story
after seeing one of the Ford letters displayed at at show he'd attended --
despite the fact that I'd specifically mentioned their existence and how to
obtain them in a e-mail I'd sent him the previous March!

If *anyone* deserves credit for "discovering" the Ford reports, it's
probably Mr. Cross, who publicized them at every opportunity -- for no
personal profit, I might add...

Lastly, although the letters from Ford are free, all the data is now also
in the hands of Kevin Marti, who managed to purchase the entire database
from Ford, and is now offering much more thorough reports for varying costs
(depending on the level of detail, interpretation, and speed of delivery).
And unlike the occasionally inaccurate Ford CAC letters, you're actually
assured of *getting* the reports you request from Kevin. winking smiley
Kevin Marti/Marti Auto Works can be reached at: (email redacted)

Actually, this isn't the first, or second for that matter, time they've published
the number. I find they periodically put this in their magazine. They've also
talked about Kevin Marti and have provided his number as well in past issues, I'm
sure it'll show up again. It's also handy for those who don't have the benefit of
the Internet. Makes a nice read as well.
