Hello all (again).

To all of you guys that went to Carlisle: How about forwarding back a
report on the contents, rarities, quality, bargains, absurditiies,
etc, etc...

Will anyone be attending the Shelby meet in Tulsa this weekend? the
Arkasas swap meet on Petit Jean mountain?

TIA

Brad Guthrie

I only went Friday and more or less had tunnel vision (if it was'nt
for '67-8 Mustang, I did'nt notice) due to a lack of time, but here are
a few of my findings; as far as absurd that would have to be the guy who
wanted $500 for an NOS '67 deluxe dash bezen w/ SS insert. Branda has
NOS for 108 and change. Had a hard time keeping a straight face when he
told me how rare and hard to find this piece was, I did'nt have the
heart to piss on his parade.
Quality of the meet itself was good, Carlisle usually has decent
events. Part quality was varied, as is to be expected. There were'nt
many cars there yet, but the ones that I saw were very nice. I was
especially impressed by a Mach 1 Twister, I've spent all my life on the
east coast and have only seen pictures of them. The one there was of
showroom quality.
I found some good deals, I got a '69 Mustang fuel tank-$35, '67 FB
overhead console w/ all hardware in perf cond-$90, FE dual quad alum
intake-$120. Also found a yard nearby that will sell me a complete front
disc brake system, pedal to spindle-$300.
Seemed to be a little bigger than last year and I was there on the
slowest day. In my opinion within the next seven to ten years this will
be the biggest Ford event on the east coast. If you can make it next
year, definately go, you won't be disappointed.
Let us know how the Shelby show is.
Mike
