Well, All I can say is...

If you're stripping a dash... Take out the cluster, glovebox,
ashtray, dashpad, etc. To leave this stuff in while trying to strip is a sin,
and You'd be wasting your time trying to do it otherewise.

The same goes for a stripping the interior side of a door... Take out any
obvious parts such as door panels, arm rests, etc. I'd hate to say use your
best judgement because I've seen "quickie" jobs done by people who you'd
swear were blind when they did the job. Jobs that were done by skipping
removal of obvious parts, and that would make a purist cry. So, more or
less, Use your intelligence.

Do yourself and possible the next owner of the car a favor..Take off the
parts..
I can't imagine what you'd have to mask anyway, seeing as how when you
completly disassemble a dash, or the inside of a door...What you're seeing is
most likely what you're stripping. Masking would probably be a waste of time
anyway, because the stripper will easily eat through any tape anyway and
while you're stripping, It would be a false sense of security, so what I
suggest, is what someone else in the group suggested, Use a 2 inch brush, and
a regular Plastic Painter's dropcloth, take your dear sweet time, and be
careful. Use patience. That's what I do..
I honestly don't see what else you could do, but I'd love to hear what people
are suggesting..

PS: The stripper will not affect any chromed metal surfaces, BUT IT WILL
AFFECT CHROMED PLASTIC!!
PPS: In case of anykind of spillage onto a part or area that you don't want
stripped, COLD WATER will temporarily counteract the stripper, so have a
small bucket of it standing by. It also comes in handy if you get any on
your skin, or god forbid, Your eyes. smiling smiley

I'd be careful w/ the plastic drop cloth idea. The striper I use would eat right

through one. I'm not sure just what to use, lots of newspaper maybe?
Also, make sure the paint brush you use is not nylon, (or is that polyester)
or like me, you'll find yourself holding a wooden stick w/ goo on the end
where a brush used to be.

Good Luck.

HEAVY DUTY EASY OFF IS A GOOD STRIPPER, Especially for stripping PLASTIC, But if you'r doing the inside of a car, You don't want to use it for two reasons, One, You really can't control where the spray may wind up, and Two, When you use it, You have to strip in stages... You can't just put it on and wipe it off.. That's why the gel stripper is better for the inside of a car, You only have to do it once, and when you do it, You have more controll of where it goes when you use a 2 inch brush..

My 2 cents

Did I say that EASY OFF was great for stripping Plastic?? It is the best!! Only use it as a stripper when you are working on parts outside of the car.

Yea I use it a lot on plastic painted stuff. It dosn't bother the plastic
but removes the paint. Its a little slow for anything else.

I have used ez strip. It's easy to use and cheap. Picked it up at Home Depot
and used course steal wool and soapy water to clean up with when your done.
I did both interior doors and the dash with it. key to any stripper is the
clean up. don't skimp on the clean-up.
