I can't seem to find any torque specification for the power steering cylinder to centerlink? Does it just get tightened enough to line up the hole on the castellated nut for a cotter pin? Or does it get the 30-40 ft.lbs. that the tie-rods to centerlink get?

The idler arm bolts & nuts I removed looked pretty nasty, and were a bugger to get off. I went down to my local NAPA who couldn't match up exactly the fine threaded bolts and cruch nuts. Instead I got grade 5 corse thread bolts, locknuts and tempered nuts. Think these are okay to use? (There was also an identical bolt/nut for the steering cylinder to frame bracket.)

Trying to take advantage of an unusually warm day here in Pennsylvania.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I think 30-40# is about right, from what I remember. At least, that's what
I did (35#) and mine has yet to fall off! <grin>

I know what you mean about warm weather, we took the '66 out for a cruise
today for a couple hours, it was great!

When I took mine off, I pulled so hard my face turned turned two shades of
red. I figured one shade of red was enough to put it back. :-)

Okay then, 30-40 ft-lbs it is.

Thanks,
Mike
