I just purchased my first Mustang; a 1967 convertible, 289, Auto.
-What is the collective wisdom from those in-the-know as to the best all around
repair manual?
-Is a factory repair manual available in re-print?
-Would a Haynes or Chiltons (for instance) be a good companion manual to a
factory manual?
-Is there a re-print of the owner's manual (IE, the glovebox manual)?
-Last, is there one source better and cheaoer than another?
Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, most Mustang places carry them, they will be $39.99 or something
like that.

Both junk.

Yes, same place as factory manual.

No, pricing should be pretty uniform.

Yes. Just about any mail order Mustang parts house will have the reprints.

I do have both a Chilton's and a factory shop manual. The Chilton's is very
generic and covers many years while the shop manual only covers one year.
But Chilton's can be useful with their general troubleshooting procedures.

Yes.

I don't think there's a huge difference between the sellers. You can hear
horror stories about any of the mail order places, and good stories about
the same place.
Having said that, I've noticed that Virginia Classic Mustangs is slightly
cheaper than Mustangs Unlimited (as an example), but since Mustangs
Unlimited ships from the state next to me, I get the parts the next day (if
they're in stock). For what it's worth, I have had to deal with their
service department once or twice (short shipped items or damaged items) and
any problems were dealt with promptly and without hassle.

Yes, start with this one, expensive at $ 35-40 but it has everything
-Would a Haynes or Chiltons (for instance) be a good companion manual to a
factory manual?
For those that have done a lot of cars, they're pretty lame, but if you're new
to car epair/restoration, they are very easy to follow, the color spark-plug
photos and troublshooting stuff is OK
-Is there a re-print of the owner's manual (IE, the glovebox manual)?
Yes, get from same vendors as shop manual
-Last, is there one source better and cheaoer than another?
All about the same.
