Hi All,
I have got a set of assembly manuals for my 1966 mustang. I think they are great
but the only thing they are missing is some sort of description of what
the nuts and bolts are. That is ford gives their nuts and bolts their own code.
By the time i get to the end of the restoration i will have a bucket full
of various bolts and nuts and wont know where they go.
Does anyone have a chart etc that tells you what the bolts and nuts used on the
mustang are which correspond to the codes in the assembly manuals.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
/Grant

I believe those nut & bolt kits sold in the catalogs come with a chart
showing what goes where. If you're doing a complete restoration, new
concours-correct nuts & bolts will look real sharp.

The Illustrated Master Parts cataolg shows many of the bolts and
hardware. But they are inter mixed with all the other part numbers.
There is a book Ford printed (the Harware & Utility Catalog) that shows
all the fasteners, nuts and bolts. It lists all of these but in turn
does not list every application for all the car models. So in real terms
there is no easily found reference that shows the description, part
number and the application of every bolt & nut Ford used through the
years.
By the way (if you didn't already know the Ford hardware number
identifies the original finish used on the piece.
