Rav,

Classic Motor Book's catalog has a book by Sessler called the "Mustang 5.0 &
SVO: Mustang Performance Handbook." Part of the description says, "...
Follow the Mustang from 1965 to today with special features on the GT, SVO,
and the powerhouse 302. Includes chassis mods, Saleen and other customs,
and more..." The book is softbound 8-1/4" x 10-3/4", 160 pages, $19.95

Classic Motorbooks can be reached at 1-800-826-6600 or 24hr Fax at
1-715-294-4448.

Good Luck, hope this helps.

"MUSTANG Performance and Handling Guide 1964-85", ISBN 0-87938-197-3.

It is out of print. I got my copy from a friend who visited the
publisher during a car show/air show/... event the weekend after
Labor Day (September 6 this year?). He found the book in a box of
out of print books. He'll be on his honeymoon in Hawaii this year
so I can't ask him to look for you.

Try the Classic MotorBooks 800 number and they should know the
exact date. Maybe you can contact the publisher?

BTW, since I do have this book at work (next to the Java and Perl
books), any thing you want to know?

Rav and all,

The "Mustang Performance and Handeling Guide 65-85", was proabably
the best book Peter Sessler ever wrote. Even the book that super-
ceeded this book (The 5.0 Litre Performance Guide), and in effect
drove it out of production, doesn't come close to the original for
the 65-73 Mustang enthusiast.

The book is divided into chapters on engine component improvement:
ignition, intake, valve train & cam, exhaust, then goes by engine
family - I4, I6, V6, small block V8, big block V8, then talks about
suspension mods. Excellently explained, it prevents you from wasting
money on improvements that won't meet your goals.

The book went out of print in 1992, due to poor sales, and his new
book coming out. You can still find it at some Mustang parts houses,
swap meets, literature guys, and perhaps printing warehouses for book
chains. The publisher shipped every copy they had, and some of the
people that have it, don't know that they have it. I fought for a
copy at a swap meet. Maybe we could contact Peter Sessler and suggest
he contact the publisher for a reprinting. He is often seen on the
east coast at car shows; I run into him regularly around Mustangs
Unlimited's shows in Manchester, CT, and some of the other New England
area shows. This leads me to believe that he lives in/around CT.

Are you going to be at the Northampton show this weekend? It's close enough
to Hartford so that if you go to the Manchester shows, it should be around
the same distance. If not, I'm also planning to go to the "Fall Round-up"
in September. I've only been to a couple shows, and they were both full of
friendly faces, but it would nice to have face to go with a familiar name
from this list.

Wish I was Tom. In fact, I'm off to California Thursday night to Tuesday.
But I'll try to make the Sept. show (missed the June 8 show, due to the
ALL FORD Nationals at Carlisle). I'll have to give Jeff Speegle a call
and settle for the West coast version of a show. But I'd be glad to meet
you at any show I'm headed to. And I agree with you about the familar
faces. I try to do the same whenever possible.

My apologies. I meant to send this just to John Dettori, but I'd love to
speak to anyone else who's attending this show on August 10. As the
signature says, it's a '66 convertible, Caspian Blue (not the original
color, or even an original color for a '66) with a white top.
