I am beginning my search for rear window louvers and front and rear
spoilers for my 70 Mach 1.

First- anyone know of/have any for sale?

Second- what part numbers should I be looking for to make sure they are
correct for a 70 Mach?

Third- what is the going price for each of these items? I know of at
least one place that will have them, but would like to know what the
current fair market value is?

TIA
Ben

Ben,

I don't have any catalogs in front of me, so I'll try to do this from
memory.

Tony Branda sells repro louvers that are claimed to be an exact repro
of the factory louvers. They're priced at around $350, and include
hardware. Used originals will probably cost more, especially if they're
in good condition.

Rear spoilers come in two flavors: the '69 plastic spoiler and the '70
fiberglass spoiler. When new the plastic ones tended to bow in the middle,
hence the move to fiberglass in 1970. These are also available as repros
for about $125 or so. Be aware that the factory installed a prop rod
for the rear deck lid on cars equipped with a factory rear spoiler -- the
lid doesn't stay in the "up" position very well when there's a spoiler on
top of it. The prop rods are available from Tony Branda for about $40.
Also, the 1970 fastback deck lids are different from the '69s. The '70s
have cutouts for mounting the spoiler (which was a factory option for
1970 Mach 1s), the '69s don't have the cutouts (the spoiler wasn't a
Mach 1 option in '69 -- it was a Boss option).

Front spoilers are bolt on plastic. They're available as repros for less
than $100.

Sorry, I don't have any original part # info handy. If you're only
interested in originals I'd take a good look through Hemmings Motor
News, the Ford Trader, and Mustang Monthly's Marketplace. All have
am lot of used part ads.

Rear spoiler goes from $100 for a cheap repro to $350 for a good repro.
NOS, or a good used one - anyone's guess. But they are out there.

Rear window louvers or "Sports Slats" as Ford denoted them are about $300
for a repro pair. Mine were original, butthe previous owner replaced the
chrome hinges for about $100. I have seen one NOS set a few years ago
for $500, but you'd have to look.
