I have a 351W Edelbrock Performer intake, Holley carb (#3259) and
Duraspark distributor. The carb hits the distributor (those pesky
LeMans float bowls must be the problem).

Should I use a carb spacer to raise the carb (and pray it will fit under
my hood) or use the smaller distributor cap and plug wires? Anyone use
the smaller distributor cap on a DuraSpark distributor? I've read if
the plug gap is .040" the smaller cap isn't a problem.

Thanks,
rick

Hey, I remember that carb! I don't recall them hitting on my 302 though
even with the big cap.

Yea, I had a duraspark on my Dad's '72 302 in his van and the small cap
and rotor worked just fine.

Worked fine with my little 289 too. I'll pick up new wires, rotor and cap.

Pete, I've had that carb for over 10 years!

Thanks David. I'll get a new cap, wires, and rotor. Ironically I've
been running junk yard pulled bits for 10 years (cap, rotor, wires,
dist, coil, box, ...). I could buy *some* new parts.

I don't have the hood on to check for clearance Clarence but will use
the foil trick.

rick
