Car bought new in Pasadena, California. Got stripped to a bare bodyshell, and passed through many hands, until I got the car in 1998. It is the best-preserved Mini shell I have ever seen.
Car is a *very* early 850 Mini with some of the unique features that go along with early cars....brass door hinges, small roof gutter drains, window channels that drain out through the ends of the doors instead of down the drain hoses, etc. When I bought it, I had a *very* rusty 1966 998 Cooper that was beyond restoration. I salvaged all the glass, and most of the trim off the Cooper, and built one car out of two.
The car languished in an unfinished state for far too long, but in late-2013, I began working on it again. The hope is to have it back on the road by mid-2013.
