Buying My Second Sprite

Last Sunday, October 1st, I completed the purchase of my second Austin-Healey Sprite. This one is a Mark III in fairly good shape. The previous owner installed a 1275 motor at some point in his 15 years of ownership. Although the car ran pretty well on my test drive, it developed a miss, stutter and backfire on my way home the following Sunday. The carbs had been rebuilt, and were emission vintage SU HS2s, which had extra fittings on the tops of the float chambers that were not connected to...
