I own and operate Acme Speed Shop located in Taylors, SC. I rebuild MG and Triumph engines for street performance and offer cylinder head rebuilding and porting for street performance engines, as well as race. I also offer DIY rebuilding kits with free tech advice for the DIYer. I've been racing and rebuilding these MGs, and Triumphs for 40 years. I raced Spitfires, MGBs, and Midgets in the SCCA, and now race a 1967 MGB in vintage racing.

Well, this year we did a little...

I first bought a 1974 roadworthy MGB GT to do a restoration on, got as far as taking a few pieces off before I got two race cars to build at my shop needless to say, my stuff ranks well below my customer's stuff. A year earlier I has met Tony Kipling at a SCCA drivers school when I was his race instructor. Tony and I hit it off and I helped him look for a Midget race car in the following months. Every race car Tony looked at didn't rally meet his needs. He had looked at my Midget race car,...
Acme Speed Shop

I've raced British cars for almost 25 years now and owned more than a few as street cars as well. After many years in the automotive business, I decided I wanted to concentrate on what I liked rather having to work on variety of cars, so thats how Acme Speed Shop came to be. Most of my involvement with British cars has been with MGBs, Spridgets and Spitfires, so thats what I concentrate on at my shop. At Acme what we mostly do engines, and engine components. We do alot more labor than parts. ...
