I started the body work back on February 21st, by taking 3 days off of work when the weather was good. I have been working on the weekends and week nights when time is available. I have been working to get everything ready for final primer and paint. I have completed almost all of the filling that I have to do since the car came back from getting all of the new sheet metal installed. I am on the final steps just filling in any small dents and dings. The progess has been pains takenly slow but well worth it. I am in the process of purchasing a hood as the original is so damaged that I do not think it would look as good or last with large amounts of filler. I had a goal of getting the car back on the road by April 6th but now I have set my sites on the end of May. Hopefully this goal is realistic as I am on the short rows now.

Friday night I got a call from the guy who is doing my sheet metal and boy was I a happy camper. He had already installed the left rocker panel, left rearqtr patch panel and left front dog leg. He also has cut out the right quarter panel and he will be installing it and the new rocker sometime this week. I had to order a new right front patch panel as the original has a few rust spots. If all goes well I should have it back and ready to slap some puddy on it in a couple of weeks.

I had the grill re-chromed and the insert polished. I picked it up Friday after work. It looks really good, it is not show quality but it looks great. Reassembled the grill and other components

Well I finally got back to working on the ole' B today. I took out the Brake and Clutch master cylinders, the housing, the heater core and housing and started to strip some of the old paint. I have also removed both side windows and vents, I also replaced the seals on the vent windows.

I purchased this car back in 1989 and drove it as a work car for years before putting it in storage with intentions of doing a minor restore, but once it was away I found I had other things to take up my time.

I began working on this project again about 10 years ago but lost interest once again and just worked on her a few times a year. Now I have devoted all of my spare time to get it up and running by Spring 2007. I have removed the all of the rotten panels and found lots of inside rot, all new panels will be replaced with the next month or so. I had the engine rebuilt from top to bottom and have reassembled it. I have purchased new gas tank, exhaust system, installed new gaskets on tranmission, reworked the brake system, purchased new tires, bead blasted the wire wheels, primed and painted.

So you all of you on the fourm please keep me reminding to get this B back on the road by Spring 2007.
