Greetings...
I am planning to continue my suspension upgrades that I started with my rear suspension. I will be installing the Eibach springs I have already purchased and probably the Koni strut inserts. I have a question about other parts I may need. I have not dissembled it yet and want to have the needed parts on hand before I start. I have been researching other parts and have found the following listed in the KYB catalog.
SB103 - Strut Boot Kit (Front)
SM5038 - Front Strut Mount
SM5415 - Front Lower Springseat insulator
SM5005 - Strut Mount Bearing for SM5038
SM5156 - Front Strut Upper Springseat
SM5271 - Front Strut Mounting Kit
I would guess the spring seats I could just visually inspect and tell if they are torn or not. I would also replace the boots as they tend to crack and are not expensive. For the rear I replaced the strut mount so I guess it makes sense for the front. I see the front has extra parts like the bearing. With 125K miles and a cosst of $15 each it would make sense to replace the bearing as apparently its not included in the 5038 mount. What about the SM5271 does anyone know is included in this item? Should it be replaced?
Is there anything else I have missed? I am also thinking of getting some polyurethane bushings. Does anyone know what is available and reasonable to replace?
Your comments are appreciated.

Hi James
Check out the suspension section at www.shonutperformance.com for some ideas of things to replace. I can't comment on all of your stuff because I'm doing 100 things at once right now and only skimmed your message. Two things though; make sure that you install the Koni inserts with the eibach springs. Anything less than a Koni or Tokico won't dampen the stiffer eibach springs.
I'd skip the poly bushings and get TPR bushings instead. They won't deform and squeak like the poly's. Check out Napa, rockauto.com, RCM or SHOnut for the bushings. For that matter, you can check out all of those sites for all of your suspension needs.
RCM:
home.earthlink.net/~rcm_automotive/index.html
I'd plan on getting new strut and LCA pinch bolts too. They are torque to yield and shouldn't be re-used. However, I will confess that I've reused them with blue loctite. I will only re-use them once but that doesn't mean its the correct way to do it.
Good luck!
Ian

Would be a sad to have replaced so many items in the suspension, only to have the bearing packs start groaning a month later.
TPR lower control arm bushings are good pieces. Also, hit up PST (p-s-t.com/) for their polygraphite swaybar bushings. Hardest out there aside from steel, and won't ever make a sound. Be sure to put some sylglide on them, even though they declare that lube is not needed. Only have to do it once.
Have you considered replacing the LCA's? They are sub-100k parts, and mods will stress them good if they are worn.
David
