Hey everybody,
When my 92 MTX has below a half tank of gas, it misses hesitates and does not perform well. When I fill the tank, she runs like a cheetah. I am thinking I have sediment or something in the tank or something to that effect. Is it feasible to take the tank off, drain it, clean it out and put it back on?

Yes. But...
Try changing the fuel filter first. When you find that doesn't work, it
sounds like it needs a new fuel pump. Mine did similar things it hot
weather, which here in Fort Worth started in April. I dropped the tank,
opened it up, it was clean as a whistle. Out in a new 155LpH pump and she
is running better than she has in a long, long time. I should have done it
several years ago.

If I was going to drop the tank on one of my SHOs, I would replace
the fuel pump. Droping the tank could be a major task if your SHO
has spent anytime on salted roads.
There is a good source for these pumps, think it is Autoperformanceengineering.
com. About $80.
But have you run the computer codes? I just may not be junk in the
tank, of the pump.
My '93mtx was subject to periods of poor running a while back, amd
it was the cam sensor.
