Here goes: Several months ago when i installed my navigation system, it
kept blowing the fuse that ran the radio, power mirrors, and keyless entry
buttons. Well as luck would have it, as i was on my way to my friends house
to run a seperate power wire and fuse just for it, it blew again, but RIGHT
before it blew this time, i got a mild wiff of something
burning/melting....... After i rewired the navigation and all was well with
that, when i replaced the earlier blown fuse, everything works, EXCEPT my
interior lights stay ON, they will NOT turn OFF sad smiley So for the past few
months ive been living with the fuse pulled....it sucks lemme tell ya. So Im
looking for some suggestions on where to start. Is there a relay that i
could try replacing first? Or do i have to just start tracing a million
wires ? Any help is welcomed! Thanks!

You probably fried a ground wire somewhere. On the two map lights at the
sunroof switch there's a ground wire that leads to the switch assembly
frame. If it comes off (as it does sometimes) both lights will always
stay on at half power. It sounds like that's what happened to you. Do
you have an EVTM? That will help you out a bazillion ways....

Going out to check that now, but im not sure thats it, cause ALL the lights
stay on, and they look like full power when they are on. Thanx for the idea
though, goin to check that one out now. What is an EVTM, voltmeter, tester i
assume? I have a voltmeter, and my father has some kind of electrical
tester.

EVTM = Electrical/Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual. Basically wire diagrams
and readouts of all the wiring in the car. Invaluable for use as a
troubleshooting tool. Try looking on ebay for them, I think 92-95 is all
pretty much the same wiring. 92 might be different, I don't know...

I realize this is a dumb question, but I've seen it happen... You're
sure the switch is not on, right? The dimmer switch for the dash
lights?

If it's not that, you may have a bad door switch somewhere.

No, not a door or dimmer switch. Its definitly directly related to the last
time the fuse blew and i smelt somthing melt/burn a little bit. If i watch
the lights while they are on, and shut the door, they dim just a TINY bit,
so they are losing the power from the door swtich, but its still gettin
power from whatever melted together i guess. Just not sure the best way to
hunt it down.
Thanks for the suggestions though, keep 'em coming smiling smiley

I would take a close look/sniff around the Autolamp/Dimmer area of the dash.
