Yeah, seat belts have been a primary offense here for awhile. Basically a
revenue-generator, as they have had patrols just for seatbelts, and they
brag about how much $$$ it has brought in.

I believe the have a choice for civilian plates versus state vehicle plates.
The state ("X" plates here) are probably cheap or free, but they can
probably spend a few $$$ for civilian plates if they choose.

Convention

The seat belt thing has been a law here for quite some time, and I believe
most of the city and state officers here have the same computer setups.
Also remember that in TN you have to move over for stopped emergency
vehicles.....they do enforce this.

In Nashville you have to watch for what appear to be dressed up civilian
Impalers and CV's.....Dark Blue (Imp), Light Blue (CV), Charcoal (CV), Black

(both), White (Imp), Champagne (Imp), and I think a couple of others have
been added.

dark tinted windows,
Impalers have a rear spoiler....the white one has a full body ground effects

kit.
dual exhaust w/chrome tips
chrome wheels
NO spotlights
and very small external antenna

Oh yeah.......CIVILIAN PLATES...I think 1 I saw was even from a different TN

county....I didn't think this was legal, but they do it.

I noticed that the Caravans are not going through KY, but I figure I
would give the list an update on the "new traffic laws" and "new
happens" here.

1) New Law takes effect today; you can be pulled over and cited for not
wearing a seat belt. If the only think you are doing wrong is not
wearing it, you still can be pulled over and cited. However, until Jan
1, 2007 there isn't a fine for the seat belts, but I'm sure "they" can
find something else to fine you for if they want.

2) The State Troopers as well as most of the Locals now have the
national computer system in their cruisers. If they pull you over, they
will see everything about you on their onboard computer. My friend last
night ran the tags on my SHO and within seconds it showed my complete
driving record (and my criminal record if I had one) plus any warrants
criminal or domestic outstanding. It's a "pretty" powerful system;
showed phone #s, spouses, addresses, work addresses, etc ... This is new
for the local folks.
