Thanks to our friend Bob Peterson in Atlanta we have some pictures of
the Atlanta (Hapeville) plant just after it closed. Check out the
pictures, the famous sign that has been a guide for pilots and see the
last few Fords parked in the lot as they shut things down.
A commemorative jacket was offered right at the end, and SHO Club,
thanks to Bob, was able to get one to auction off at the Kalamazoo
Convention. Only FOUR of these jackets exist! (not many people at the
plant were in the mood to spend money to commemorate the event) and ONE
will be auctioned off for the Cancer society. As if you needed a reason
to attend the convention, it will be your only chance to own this piece
of Taurus history.
Also, the registration forms and tech forms are online for those ready
to register for Convention #16
Thanks, check out all of it at:

I have not seen the jackets yet, but will post a picture when I do get
them. I should get the jackets soon, and we are considering putting
some unique SHO embroidery on the back, which is plain as the jackets
come to us. The plant embroidery is on the front.
It turns out that more than four jackets exist, Bob explained that every
worker at the plant got a jacket (about 2000), but the four that Bob and
I bought may be the only other ones made, and no more will be available,
expecially to the public. If we put embroidery on our jackets, then
they will be unique, and the only four like that, that is what Bob meant.
Didn't mean to mislead, I misunderstood Bob's comments. It is for
Charity anyway, and is still a very rare part of SHO history. We have a
size XL available for charity auction next year.
