About three weeks ago, I asked the list to diagnose a "noise" coming
from my engine. Many of you responded saying it was valve chatter.
I must admit, without seeing the engine, you came quite close. It
wound up being the power steering pump. Apparently, the seals had
blown and I was leaking power steering fluid slowly. As a result,
Ford replaced my entire power steering rack. I must admit, the car
is much quieter and rides a little nicer, too!

As for the paint job they did (rock chips along the rocker panels),
they did that quite nicely. Unfortunately, they did unauthorized work
as well, by walking around my car with a brush and "touching up" all
the other rock chips, giving my car the chicken pox!! This is an
issue that isn't quite resolved, but rest assured that if they can't
make my car look right, they're gonna repaint the whole damn thing.

Ahh well ... back to your normal programming ...
