If anyone knows all the parts it takes to swap an AOD into an '89 LX 2.3L
with a 5-speed, I would greatly appreciate your comments. I have heard
that many things have to be changed. I hope this is not true.
Thanks,

I think you are trying to replace the aod with a five speed... right?
A turbo-coupe 5-speed may be used, but you need to modify the
bellhousing, driveshaft (unique length input shaft) and a unique rubber
trans mount. Also the cluth pedal, shift levers... A lot of work in my
opinion, but anything is possible.

For one thing, you will be looking for an A4LD, this is a fairly common
mixer, used in everything from Broncos to Mustangs to T.C.s.
