Fellow Fordnatics:

I am looking to improve the handling (and appearance)
of my 92 Mustang GT by installing some aftermarket springs.
I've heard lots of good stuff about the Eibach Pro
Street springs but they are the most expensive (at
about $239 as far as I know). The BBK's and Ford SVO's
are $60 - $80 less. (Figures from ads in a recent
edition of MM&FF.) I use the car just on the street
and not on the drag stip. I also like to autocross
the car. What's the best route to go here? Also,
where can the best deal be had? Thanks.

Kevin

I've got Eibach race springs (650-800 lb/in front, 200-250 lb/in rear?)
on my '89 Mustang. I think they are well suited to street use with the
proper shocks. I think I paid $240 for them last spring, but I don't
remember exactly. I got them from RD Enterprises of San Diego, (800)
683-2890. I do remember that RD was cheaper than most other Eibach
distributors.

Given the labor required to install springs (the fronts are especially
tricky in late Mustangs), why are you worried about a $60 difference in
purchase price?

Remember you will need stronger shocks and struts to keep the stiffer
springs under control. RD is a great source for shocks, carrying all
the major brands at excellent prices. They're a warehouse distributor
for most brands. I got my Konis there too.

Disclaimer: Just a satisfied customer of Eibach and RD Enterprises.
I'm not making any money off this message.
