Does ANYBODY have the EEC-IV pinout for a Speed Density computer for the
Mustang? The Probst book covers Speed Density, but not for Mustangs,
the Woods book is wrong, Chilton's pretends the computer doesn't exist
on the wiring diagrams, and Haynes doesn't have it either!

My 1990 copy of the Haynes Mustang manual has the EEC-IV processor pinout
on the last page of the electrical systems diagram. It indicates that
the California emissions hook-ups are in dashed lines, which include the
following:

50 - MAF
9 - MAF return
17 - Malfunc. indicator light
3 - Speed sensor signal to amp.
6 - Speed sensor to lo Vref
19 - Fuel pump relay
32 - Air port solonoid signal
38 - Air dump solonoid signal

Some of these sounded like they should apply to EFI cars in general.
But, the drawing also includes the following relevant items:

45 - MAP sensor feed
29 - Air fuel sensor (connected to right HEGO sensor)
43 - (connected to left HEGO sensor) "Thermocouple POS to exhaust
overtemp module (?)
25 - Air temp sensor
56 - crankshaft position sensor

There are obviously a bunch more, but I don't feel like typing them now.

eyc

Well, after comparing the harness in my car with what is correct
for a MAF car (according to Probst,) I found only the differences
you mentioned, other than a few changes in wire colors. Thank God
Ford didn't monkey around too much with the wire colors! Here's a
summary of the differences I found and the changes I made when
installing the Mass Air Kit (more on this tomorrow...)

PIN # COLOR SIGNAL NOTES
9 T/LB MAFRTN Added from adaptor harness supplied with kit.
11 LG/BK AM2 Moved to pin #32.
17 T STO/SIL On my car this wire is Y/BK.
21 R/LB ISC/BPA On my car this wore is W/B.
32 LG/BK AM2 Moved from pin #11 on my 1988 SD harness.
38 W/R AM1 Moved from pin #51 on my 1988 SD harness.
40 BK/W PWR GND This wore is BK/LG on my 1988 SD harness.
50 DB/O MAF Added from adaptor harness supplied with kit.

In addition to these changes, the Cobra Mass air sensor gets its
power from pin 37 and is grounded through pin 60.
