I hope this isn't too far from the subject of _this_ list. ;|

A friend of mine just got access to an old IBM AS/400. If I ask
real nice, and the machine can handle such a thing, I may be able to put
a tbird list there. In particular I would like it to be a disscusion
forum type thing for Turbo Coupes, as that is what I have, and am partial to.

I have three questions to you guys (and gals).

Does anyone know about AS/400's and their software capibilities?
What can I work with here?

What would I need for a software package to run the list and
subscriptions and such? I bet Chuck could answer this.

And lastly, who here would be interested, i.e. who has a late
model Tbird, Turbo or otherwise? A short message to explain what you have
will do.

A word of warning, don't get your hopes up too far. From what I
hear from my friends brother, it is very difficult to run this kind of
stuff on a AS/400, and it being an old one (circa 1988) certainly doesn't
help.

I would like to see a Tbirds list as long as it included Super Coupes and
regular 'birds.

There used to a T-bird list a couple of years ago, but I think most of those
people have settled here on Fordnatics. You might want to take a poll of how
many people it would be , and if it's worth the hassle of maintaining a
separate list.

A T-bird list would be another list for me to keep up with, as I have gotten a
lot out of Chuck's list (despite all the mustang talk :-) and would stay on
this list too. But if there is enough interest to support a 'bird list , I
say - go for it.

I was recently was reading through my newsgroups and found this:

- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
A recent purchaser of a Ford Thunderbird SC,
I've decided I really like this body type, lineage,
and historical happenings. Plato don't know Socrates.
But I've started a T-BIRD mailing list. Open to all,
