Well it seems Ford is standing their ground on my SuperCoupe's trannie problem.
For those who don't remember, I was having trouble shifting into 1st or 2nd
after being in neutral with my foot off the clutch. They agreed that as lond
as the car is moving it will shift easy, but if your foot comes off the clutch
while in neutral, then it will be very hard to engage again. I was told it is
characteristic of all 5spd SuperCoupes and even Mustangs. Well, this is funny,
because my trannie is a Mazda made as are Ford trucks. The Mustang trannie is
not. Do you mustang people out there have this same symptom? I know people
with Ford trucks who don't have this problem, but then again the trannies are
not exactly the same. I have tried to find another SuperCoupe 5spd to try ,
but they are none on the lots in Houston. I even changed the fluid and put in
Mobil 1 synthetic but that didn't help. I plan to try Redline next. The
dealer said the best I could hope for was to put in 2 cans of friction modifier
and drive it.
