Terry:
After consulting my info from the Auto Show, I was surprised to see that
there was only info on the 351 Stangs. I got my info from Motor Trend
(1/95) and it has the following brief description of the Sport:
"The bargain of the group is the V6 Sport, a muscle-toned insurance
beater. The price for this package is approx. $18,000, but another four
grand gets you the Vortech supercharger for the 3.8 V6, a set of
ceramic-coated headers, and electronic boost control. With a projected 220
horsepower, performance should at least equal that of the Mustang GT's 215
hp 302."
Now back to the Saleen catalog. All of the options for the 351's are
listed, and I would imagine that many of them are available for the Sport.
I am going out on a limb here but I believe that because they are all
individually customized that they would put anything you asked (and paid)
for. For instance, there is a solution for that UNSIGHTLY clock pod on the
dash. (It is the worst part of an otherwise decent interior, IMO). There
are two gauges for fuel pressure and manifold pressure. I am not sure if
these would be standard on any Saleen, but most likely if it's
supercharged. I would get these for my Stang (if I had one) just to get
rid of that STUPID clock. It's like one of the engineers said, "Hey, Billy
Bob, what if we put one of them elec-tronic gizmos on the dash of this
here car? All them Japanese cars gots em!" I mean, the stereos nowadays,
esp Ford/JBL units have clocks in them already. So what's with the big
bubble on the dash? I guess this could be a clever place for a radar
detector too, but the gauges look really tough. Speaking of stereos, you
can also order a Pioneer system with a 12-disc changer, leather trim,
special speedo and tach, add-on body aero kits, tire and wheel packages,
suspension upgrades galore, etc.
As for performance numbers, I can only guess here. R/T reports that the
302 GT will hit 60 in 6.7 sec, with a 1/4 mile trap time of 15.2 sec and
top speed of 140. I guess you can use those figures for reference. Here
are some other figures for the rest of Saleen's offerings:
1/4 mi 0-60 lat accel $
s'charged 351 13.2/109.7 4.9 .97g $46,235
351 13.6/105.3 5.1 .97g 39,990
SR 12.8/117.0 4.7! .99g! 59,990
If you want/need more info, you can call Saleen Productions, Ltd @
800-725-3364. Hope this is of use to you.

To Fordnatics and Mike:
According to the Saleen catalog, here are the suspension options:
Front
Hybrid Macpherson strut w/ Saleen/Racecraft struts & var. rate springs mounted
on lower control arms. 1.38 in stabilizer bar with urethane pivot
bushings, strut tower brace. Specially calibrated suspension settings with
camber/caster plates.
Rear:
Live axle four bar link w/ var. rate coil-springs on lower trailing arms,
.830 inch stabilizer bar, Quadra shock system with Saleen/Racecraft shocks
and axle dampeners
Brakes:
Pkg 1
10.8 vented disc (fr)
10.5 disc (r)
Pkg 2
Saleen/Alcon 4-piston
13.0 grooved (fr)
10.5 grooved (rear)
Pkg 3 Std on SR model
13.0 in grooved (fr)
12.0 grooved rear
Transmission:
Tremec 5-speed with Quick Ratio
8.8 rear diff with 3.08 ratio
or 8.8 and 3.27 ratio
on the SR, the Auburn Trac Loc is std
As for that clock, I thought that the they would just pop their gauges
into the existing pod and yank out the clock. Hmm. Too bad that it doesn't
work that way. You gotta admit, that 4" blister on the dash for a .5" high
digital clock is really silly looking.
Glad to be of help....
