I'm going to change the ATF on my '92 Sable wagon. My manual says to drain the
fluid from the valve body/pump cover first (the one that has AXOD-E imprinted on
it). Getting to the cover bolts looks pretty hard. The local dealerships say
they don't bother with it, and just drain from the lower pan, but the valve body
cover contains a heat-sensitive reservoir that will hold some oil (it may drain
completely when cold). So any advice others out there can give me on how they
change the ATF and filter would be appreciated. Also, any expreience with the
new Mercon/Dextron III?

TIA for any help.
