Subject: cleaning a 289 intake?

Try using a wire brush and some Berrymans(sp?) B-12. That stuff cleans real
well and is also a good carb cleaner. I used it for getting old gaskets off of
a manifold before and it works great. It's baicallty paint thinner anyway, so
it ought to be good for prepping for painting. Be sure to use high heat engine
paint and tape off all the internals so you don't get any paint inside or
where the gaskets go. The wire brush will help ruff it up for the paint and
the gaskets.
Hope this helps
D.
