This past weekend I was discussing various subjects with some friends
from work (Ford). A couple of them are working on a one-off race
engine and recently participated in a planning meeting.

At the meeting, someone suggested that they run a Fluidamper on the
engine. The response from those who should know was _no way_. I am
going to be getting more details, but one of the big Ford Winston Cup
teams has had three crankshaft failures after switching to the FD. My
friend's were told that the Ford WC teams are not generally running
the FD.

I was just about to replace the factory damper on my car with one of
these. I'm going to wait until I hear more (since my season is
basically over). The FD sounded like the hot ticket.

I have the impression that a lot of teams are running FD's. Obviously,
the narrow, high RPM range the WC engines run is quite different from
what I do.

I'll post more details when I get them..

Brian
