hello,

When I first bought my car, I decided to do a brake job in front and
in the back. The rear was OK, but there was something up front that to
this day makes me worry. When I took off the drums in front ('66), I saw
that the inner side of the hub( I think that's what you call it) was
wearing a groove into the spindle. No matter how tight the bearings
were, the wheel assembly would still wobble( I loosened it before
driving). My question is this: I'm planning on getting rid of the drums,
in order to add discs...I've seen some kits that simply have a bracket
which attaches to your existing spindle, and others which replace the
spindle altogether. Which kind of kit is suggested (Or should I get this
stuff at a junk yard?) for my problem, and what caused this to happen in
the first place?

Thanks in advance!!!

ARRRGGH!!! if it's not one thing it's another. I'm a student, so
how much for the spindles knowing that. Exactly how much did you pay for
your whole front brakes?? Is there anything that can be done with my
existing spindles??? I talked to an experienced alignment guy, and he
said that I just shouldn't go long distances, because the brakes heat up,
and consequntly eat into the spindle... Could they be machined???
Here's a semi-picture of how my spindlles look( hopefully you're using
the type of reader that I am). Coouldn't I just get a couple of E's
machined off, so that the surface is flat again?

Thanks of all of the help.
P.S. Which brake type is more efficient??
