Hello all,

I am still battling timing issues regarding my 99X 4.0L engine in my Ford Ranger (1993 model)

There is no "offical" way to adjust the overall timing and the timing pick-up sensor is fixed with two bolts on the timing cover.

Question:

Has anyone ever "played" with DIS timing on any Ford product. What was the end-result, good or bad.

Thought:

I have thought about "slotting" the bolt holes a bit to get some lateral "play" in the timing pick-up sensor and then adjusting with my Snap-On DIS timing light. Hmmn. What is the group's opinion?

P.S.

I am also looking to retrofit my pressure regulator with something "adjustible" but I can't find anything for my engine type. Can anyone tell me if there is a retrofit that will work from any other Ford EFI system?

Again, any response is appreciated-- but hecklers are not. Also, if it is something that is particular to me, please address it to:

Sincerely,
