Hey all...

Sorry I haven't been around on the list much lately. New semester,
new job, etc.
Despite my busy schedule I found myself picking through a junk yard
the other day looking for parts for a friends 72 Blazer (my little stock 72
Bronco with 4.11 posis still beats his lifted chevy up any hill!) I've
pretty much given up looking for Mustang/Cougar parts around here since the
yards never seem to get anything new, but what should I find behind rolled
dumptruck? A 68 Cougar with a factory power Moon roof!
Now the question is, what will it take to put this moon roof in my
67 XR-7 GT? I thought all I had to do was cut a hole (albeit a very
precise one) and slap in mechanicals and moon roof from this other Cougar.
Then I started asking around for estimates (I like to do everything myself
normally, but taking a saw to my roof makes me a little queasy) and have
been told that the factory roofs had a rolled lip and that you can't just
cut a hole. Is this right? Is it a feasible alternative to cut off the
whole top at the windshield pillars and weld the other top in (my car came
with a vinyl top so it will cover less than perfect body work up well)
It's about the only option that my Cougar didn't come with (except
factory cruise control) so I really want it but not if it looks
non-factory.
Anyway, any help, as always, will be greatly appreciated.

Jonathan Hanna
