Hi Gang...

Just a few short comments/questions for whoever may be interested.
Dan's comments got me thinking in this vein..... [winking smiley

Ummmmm, let's see, CNC....Computerized Numerical Control....???

How did Mark Martin manage to stay ahead of the Buicks for so
long and what's happened to him lately in the Busch series?

Is NASCAR playing with the rules after Mark won about three or
so in a row? Did the Ford V-6's ever have a weight break in the
rules? If so, do they still?

Did I hear that Bill Elliott will leave Jr. Johnson and form his
own team with Ernie Elliott as his engine builder again in the
Winston Cup Series...? Might be a good time to leave since his
team mate Jimmy Spencer showed him up by winning Daytona. I still
don't know how Jimmy won that! My video tape recording played out
about the time Jimmy was spinning through the infield grass. Was I
seeing things, or what...?

Sounds like an inside racing secret...... [winking smiley

Congrats to Ricky Rudd for nipping Dale Earnhardt in the bud at
New Hampshire! I sure am glad he joined "our" side! I'm a card
carrying member of the ABCDE Club (Anybody But Crashin' Dale
Earnhardt). [winking smiley

Yep.

Martin and Roush are interesting individuals, and as a pair I don't
know how they get anything done. Martin's latest quote is, "We'll win
when we are ready". What the hell does that mean? Martin is happier
to finish last, and still be running, than take some chances where he
may wreck it all on the way to a win. Unfortunately, NASCAR is more
politics and ego than having fun with technology. We have been sent
home too many times for thinking, so it is best to simply turn off
your brain and do just like the rich boys. I think Martin's lack
of showing lately is due to a lack of interest (and some fighting)
within the whole team. That's all I can say, I try to build better
engines and avoid the politics.

One thing to remember is that NASCAR is very GM-centric, so Ford
never gets a break on anything. Now that Ford (i.e. us) has shown
we can play the V6 game in BGN North, they have made the engines
illegal after next year.

I thought the Elliot news was old, but, yes that is his plan. I think
he is just trying to finish the year with hurting himself.

Jimmy, Jimmy.....I don't know anyone that has a good thing to say about
him, but after the win two weeks ago, even people like me have to say
he did a pretty good job. That was a pretty good piece of driving to
beat Ernie to the line like that, and after watching Jimmy in a Modified
I know where he gets that driving style.

No, not really. I just wanted to point out that there are things you
can add to a port to make it work better. It is not simply taking a
raw casting with really tiny holes and grinding away.

Yeah, that was pretty cool to be there. All of the Dale fans were being
assholes when Ernie hit the wall, and then the rest of us stood up and
cheered Ricky on for the win. Boy, were they dejected at the end of
the race. It was great :-).
