With all the brake questions coming in I thought this might be a good time to
ask mine. I've got an '86 GT (daily driver) that I autocross and drag race
occaisionally. As you may or may not know the' 86 Mustangs were the last of
the "small" brake cars. ( I believe 10.5 inch rotors) I have replaced the
pads with good semi metallic pads and they've gotten better but I still need
more. I could try a set of carbon fiber brake pads but they're too much for
the street ( I hate the noise).
Im not a great mechanic so any change I make has to be fairly easy. Can I
put a set of front discs from and '87 or up car on the front of my car
without changing anything else? This would at least be cheap and easy. Does
anyone have any other fairly cheap and easy suggestions that might help?
Thanks in advance
AP4Nick
