Does anybody know of a source for the antibackfire valve
(sometimes called "dump valve", brits call it "gulp valve"winking smiley
for '66 vintage ford products. My application is a 390
but I have a suspicsion that the 289 used the same piece.
The ford part number is C6AZ 9B289C (this is why I think it
is the same part as for the 289), my broke unit is from
Holley and has a L3331-1S 4AE part number.
I called 8 parts stores including the ford dealer with
no luck (lot of "good luck" comments though).

Thanks

There is a San Jose, CA called "NOS Only" who has some in stock
for 66 and 67 289 motors. (I didn't ask for other applications)
His price is $110 and he will ship. His number is 408-227-2353.
When I purchased mine from him a few years ago, it was "identical"
to my original Ford ... but cleaner and it worked smiling smiley
