Hello out there! I have a 90 Mustang GT 5.0 and I was wondering if anyone out
there had encountered some of the problems I have (hopefully!). I have this
annoying problem with the LOW COOLANT light consistently being on ( even if the
reservoir is full). I have also noticed that since I had a recall (ford
replaced one of the wiring harnesses) done on the car, the check engine light
appears consistently. When it appears, it does not stay on for more than a
second or two (manual says that it the engine computer is correcting itself and
should not be a problem unless the light remains on) but it is quit annoying.
Thanks!

Bob,

I had a similar problem with the check engine light on my 91 LX. It gave
a code 31 which is the EGR position sensor on the back of the EGR valve.
Replaced the position sensor and the light now stays off. Seems this is
a problem that is relatively common. The car posed no drivability
problems just the light would come on intemittently and tended to stay on
longer and longer over about a year.
