I'm thinking about picking up a 63-67 Lincoln convertible this spring as my
summer cruiser (HEAVY cruiser, that is) and I was wondering if anyone knew of
good reference materials. I want to learn about any peculiarities or pitfalls
for this this type of Ford.

Also, if anyone knows of good books on the big block Fords (460ci, in
particular) that would also be great.

I'm not on the list anymore, so please reply directly to me at (email redacted)
or (email redacted), or both! Thanks mighty Fordnatics!

Ed

Ed,

The two books that I have that relate to the 460 are:

- How to Rebuild Your 351C/351M/400 and 429/460 Ford (HP Books)
- Ford Performance by Pat Ganahl

The rebuild book is a very good reference and the "Ford Performance"
book has a good, but outdated, section on the 429/460 engines from
a hot rodder's standpoint. I say it is outdated because the
availability of performance parts for the 460 has really increased
since the book was written.

Are you planning on swapping a 460 into the Lincoln? Didn't they
use a 462 which is a totally different engine?

Cheers,
Dan Jones
