The following message is meant to inform, NOT to inflame!!!

Regarding the message on 56 T-Birds

Old T-Birds (55-57) are great cars. As a point of clarification however the
only power options were windows, brakes, seats and of course the signal
seeking radio. The wheel did not actually "tilt" but rather it was
telescopic. All of the convertible tops were manual, but really easy to put
up. It stored behind the back seat.

All 55's had 6 Volt systems. In 56, Ford went to a 12 Volt system.
Additionally the 56 picked up vents in the front fenders (side), continental
kits, and port hole tops. The port hole top was provided to eliminate a sever
blind spot for the driver. Obviously over the years there have been a mix and
match of options however.

One other difference worth mentioning is that the 55-56 had 15 inch wheels,
while the 57 had 14 inch.

As I mentioned this information is provided ONLY for clarification and
interest.
