My clutch is about dead at this point and i would like to get some outside
input on aftermarket clutches.
I want a centerforce dual friction but i am trying to keep costs reasonable.
I haven't heard many good things about the motorsport clutches. So for a
little more, I was loolking into the zoom kevlar clutch. I do not know anyone
that has used one and would like to know if its any good, or any other
alternative for that matter.
I drive the car daily but it sees a lot of track time with slicks.
Thanks in advance,,

When my (very) mild 5.0 was installed, I just slapped a Ford Motorsport
clutch on it. This combo has seen 12K miles of commuting and road
course work, and seems to be holding up just fine. If I were to make
the same choice today, I'd order the "King Cobra" version, which is
supposed to have about a 10% lighter pedal effort.
I had a friend tell me that he gave up on a Zoom Kevlar clutch because
it would chatter uncontrollably after a couple thousand miles. He went
through 2 of them before he gave up and went with Ford Motorsport
instead. I haven't talked to him about clutches since, so I don't know
if there was something else wrong.

And I thought ZOOM only made modems!
WARNING, this is a humorous comment, do not attempt to take this
seriously. Severe mental damage may result.

Speaking of which, I just replaced the stock clutch in my 83 (~155,000 miles)
with one of these. Thru Foster Motorsports here in Alabama, it was the same
price as the regular Motorsport's clutch. Indeed, it is very light on the
pedal effort, much more than the stock 10". This kept me from shelling out
another ~$100 for a new pawl and quadrant. The clutch disengages from the
weight of my leg alone (well, almost). I was told that where the regular
MS clutch has 40% more clamping force than a stock 10.5" clutch, the KC
clutch has 30%. As far as a street clutch, it is (IMHO) a very good choice.
I have only had it in for 1 1/2 months, but I have been very pleased with
its performance to this point.
