My son works for a heating contractor and has been
blessed with the company vehicle.
This is a 1987 Ford van, 300 Six with 3 Spd OD Std shift
model B transmission, with 130K abusive multi driver miles.

The problem is the shifter has finally reached the point
that he has to hunt and find each gear. Was just reverse,
which is pull left then push forward, now it's every
gear, every shift. Checked/tightened everything up
no improvement, just plain worn out.

Question: Other than spending dealer list of $226.50
for a new shifter, is there any heavy duty
aftermarket shifter that may be better for
this application?

Thanks for you help.

Dave
